Sarah Hickey Jewellery's Cornflower Blue Oval Sapphire Bespoke Engagement Ring by Independent Jeweller in Northumberland

Experience the delicate beauty of Sarah Hickey Jewellery's Cornflower Blue Oval Sapphire Ring, a bespoke engagement ring crafted by independent jeweller Sarah Hickey in her Northumberland studio. This ring features a bewitching pale blue cornflower sapphire, set laterally to enhance its soft, velvet tones. The sapphire is elegantly placed in a simple, high-shine band, creating a classic and eye-catching design.

Key Features:

  • Gemstone: A cornflower blue sapphire sourced from Sri Lanka, measuring 6mm long and 4mm wide. Known for its vibrant, vivid blue hue, this sapphire variety is highly prized and synonymous with Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka).
  • Design: Set laterally in a smooth, high-shine band that highlights the sapphire's unique colour and elegance.
  • Craftsmanship: Hand-forged to order in Sarah Hickey's Northumberland studio, ensuring each ring is a true artisan creation.
  • Customisation: Available in various fine metal choices, with engraving options for a personal touch.
  • Presentation: Comes in a beautiful green velvet presentation keepsake box, ideal for gifting or special occasions.
  • Production Time: Please allow approximately 4-6 weeks for production, as each ring is fabricated to order.

Cornflower blue sapphires, also known as Ceylon Blue Sapphires, belong to the corundum mineral family and are valued for their intense, medium to medium-light blue hue with excellent saturation. This specific shade of blue resembles the colour of a cornflower wildflower, making it one of the most desirable and valuable colours for sapphires.

Founder

Sarah Hickey

I'm achingly passionate about the visual language of jewellery.

I studied History of Art in London and even before her graduation day arrived, I decamped to New York, to work in the art world. It was at night classes, at the tender age of 21, that I fell headlong in love with jewellery making and knew pretty much from the first class that I had found my soul’s calling.

After 8 years in New York, a jewellery agent and fledgling business, I decided to to move back home to the North of England and my online business was born. We are a team of women. We embrace flexible working, beauty in all things and we’re proud of our small creative brand.

The jewellery industry needs to do more to reduce its carbon footprint. That’s why we offset 120x more carbon than we produce, plant a tree for every purchase, and promote jewellers that are leading by example.
